The convention we use is 25% of physical RAM for each of swap and dump
volumes.  When I say "volumes" I mean ZFS volumes (zvols) not physical
storage volumes.  So you should have that much space plus at least a
few GB for headroom.  The default install (excluding swap/dump
reservations) occupies ~700MB on disk.
