Hi Agostino,
it was a bug in midnight commander's source code, patch already merged and
ready for pick-up.
See https://www.midnight-commander.org/ticket/2906.
I have published patched version at the same repo, http://pkg.cs.umd.edu.
If you run "pkg install mc", it should update midnight commander to this
fixed version.
