I'm looking to build an all-in-one OmniOS+nappit on VMWare ESXi
with 2x 6234 Opterons on a SMCI-H8DGi-F with 2x LSI-SAS-9211-8i-SGL
-- no SAS backplane. The hardware is 2x Intel SSDrive DC S3700
for a mirrored slog and 4x Micron Crucial M500 960 GByte for
a pool (mirrored stripe, or somesuch -- there's probably
no point in a raidz1 or raidz2).

Is that a sensible setup? Any problems?

How many cores/memory would you give to the zfs VMWare
guest? Would 4x and 8 GBytes RAM enough? Should I go for
16 GBytes? (machine has 128 GBytes total, will be
running Windows 2012 + Orkackle + cartridge).

Thanks.
