not really, i am comparing apples with apples. :)
developer/java/jdk is 35.x MB under omnios stable (currently).
and the 90.x MB under ubuntu server 13.10 is openjdk.
both at 1.6.x. :)
i believe the huge size under ubuntu is from being linked with
various x-win related stuff, inspite of being jre-headless.
