First off, I'm a little surprised the r151010 stick or ISO didn't boot for you. I've been off in bloody development, so I know THAT ISO works.

Try this:

1.) Create a new boot environment: beadm create 010

2.) Mount it: beadm mount 010 /mnt
(Assuming /mnt is empty, of course.)

3.) Change the publisher on the new be:
  pkg -R /mnt set-publisher -G http://pkg.omnti.com/omnios/release/ -g http://pkg.omniti.com/omnios/r151010 omnios

4.) Upgrade the new BE: pkg -R /mnt update

5.) Unmount the new BE: beadm umount 010

6.) Reboot, but when GRUB shows up, select the "010" BE to test it.

If it works, you can use "beadm activate 010" to make it permanent.

Cheesy, but effective,
Dan

p.s. Technically I'm on vacation, so pardon any high latency in the followup.
