The only thing I've used classic ntpd on for ages are boxes with actual
hardware time devices on them. It's got a history of being bloated with the
occasional security issue like this 8-/. I've been using openntpd for pretty
much everything else, but the portable version is unfortunately getting
pretty dated :(. I've been thinking of looking into Chrony
(http://chrony.tuxfamily.org/ ) as a possible simple/lightweight replacement
for openntpd. Has anybody tried that under omnios?
