There is some possibility that the mirror will still work.  Due to 
problems like this, zfs leaves some spare unused space.  This might 
only apply to the case where zfs does the partitioning though (i.e. 
not for rpool).

You can try initating the mirror and see if there is a failure.  Zfs 
puts a marker toward the end of the partition so it will know if there 
is a problem.
