Don't mind the syntax error I had here.   The results are the same when the
command is correct:

root at ZFSsendTest1:~# zfs bookmark
testpool/zfs_send at snap_for_bookmark_test1bookmark#1
cannot create bookmark 'bookmark#1': unknown error
