Dan + Johan,
thank you, but the omnios man page says:
sbdadm create-lu [-s, --size size] filename
there are no -p option.
and even if i use it, i get the error message create-lu: illegal option -- p
i know my question might come over a bit amateurish, but it's legit ;-) so are there any other way to do it?

bloody(~)[1]% stmfadm create-lu -\?
Usage: stmfadm create-lu [OPTIONS] <lu file>
OPTIONS:
-p, --lu-prop <logical-unit-property=value>
-s, --size <size K/M/G/T/P>
. . .
Looks like you'd do it that way.
Dan
You just check out stmfadm admin commands on this site:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26502_01/html/E29031/stmfadm-1m.html#scrolltoc
There are 13 different property possibilities listed there.
/Johan
