EEEESH.  That's a big jump.  We're talking YEARS of changes to illumos-gate, including some nontrivial changes in SMB sharing.

Your original question is best asked to the illumos list as:

	I moved a pool from oi_151a7 to a modern-ish illumos (OmniOS r151016), why did I have to chmod my SMB share directory?
