Does this mean
- the problems around a cooperatione with OmniOS were mainly in the past 
prior OI Hipster?
- A a merge would introduce conflicts.

This would require work to solve or both sides agree to use one or the 
other as base?
Each choice would require work to maintain the current features.

Installer seems irrelevant for me unless it offers what is needed.

Your last comment is the core of the problem.
