Does the *presence* of sendmail in a default install actually prevent folks from using their preferred MTAs with the mediator (which still works from what I can tell)?

If indeed this is just about the sendmail bits being present, I have to say they stay, because we need an MTA out of the box, even a weak one, because of cron, nightly, and other bits.

If this blocks folks from configuring their systems, then I'm more willing to address this somehow.  IF (big IF) I end up re-yanking sendmail (undoing omnios-build issue #69), I will end up placing it in illumos-tools.
