I am using a SAS 9300-16i successfully.  Obtaining a stable boot 
required disabling the adaptor BIOS on each of the logical HBAs so 
that it did not advertise the 16 drives to the Supermicro BIOS.

No idea about the 9305-16i or how it relates to what I am using.
