I believe that is a good way to go, to offer marketing space and perhaps other marketing possibilities for the sponsors.

That is a much preferred option than cutting off the community from certain publishers, or other "cut offs", because that would only cause bad blood.

During a contact with a storage systemhouse that intends to offer OmniOS 
as an additional storage OS, I asked about sponsoring of OmniOS ce and I 
was asked if there would be an option of something like a 
gold/silver/bronce patron to bepublished on the patron page.
